The features explained in this article are available from LINC-ED version 3.8.0 and above.
LINC-ED offers schools the opportunity to track student progress through the use of goals progressions. Within your site are a set of Level 1-8 Curriculum Achievement Objective goals and the English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP) criteria. In addition, there are levelled micro goals for Levels 1-4 in Numeracy and Algebra, Reading and Writing.
The sets of goals provided by LINC-ED are aligned to the curriculum levels. These can be adjusted to reflect the expectations of your school.
Schools can develop their own sets of goals however if you wish to shift to progressions based reporting your goals must be levelled.
ADDING, EDITING, RE-ORDERING AND DELETING GOALS
To view the goals in your site go to Admin tools> Menu> Goals
To add an additional set of goals:
Click the + at the end of the Subject row, enter the subject at the bottom of the existing list. Tick the box to the right if the goals are grouped as progressions (are levelled) then click Save
To add a new subject level and category:
1. Select the subject area
2. Click Add Category/Row e.g Level
3. Enter the Level and click Save
4. Locate the new goal named as the level you entered in step 3. Click Edit
4. Enter the sub category name, goal wording and parent view of the goal wording.The Parent/ child wording field must completed. Click Save.
5. The level and goal will now show in the list or table. Goals can be added/deleted within the list view or table view.
To re-order subject categories:
Select Order categories (Rows) then click and drag the arrow to the left of the level
To order subject subcategories:
Select Order sub categories (Columns) then click and drag the arrow to the left of the heading
To view all the goals in a single subject area:
Select the name of the subject. You can choose to view all the goals as a list or as a table by clicking the corresponding button
To add an additional goal:
Click the + in the relevant category and sub category. Enter wording into the Teacher wording and Parent/child wording fields. Both the Teacher wording and Parent/child wording fields must be completed. Click Save
To edit a goal:
Click the word Edit under the goal. Make your changes to the wording then click Save
To delete a single goal:
Click the word Delete under the goal then confirm you are sure you want to delete it
To move a goal from one category or subcategory to another: Click the goal and drag it to the relevant column/row.
To delete a full set of goals:
Click the + at the end of the Subject row, delete the name of the subject you want to remove the goals for then click Save
