In this article you will learn how to:
- add a new student
- update their basic information
- add them to a class
- add a profile image
Let's add a new student to the system called 'Sarah Jones' who will be a student in Room 4.
Step 1 - Add Sarah to LINC-ED
As an administrator, you will have the toolbox icon at the top of your screen.
Click on 'Add new Student'
Simply add the First and Last Name for the student. Click 'Create'
Once added you can either update all the details for Sarah now or return to her page at a later date.
Use the labels along the top to select the information types that you would like to add.
Step 2 - Add Sarah to Room 4
You will see that one of the labels along the top is 'Groups'. Select this and you will be given an option to choose the class for Sarah.
Step 3 - Update Sarah's profile photo
Once students have been added to LINC-ED they will have a 'profile badge', to begin with this badge will be an empty box with a few details (name, class, year). Images can be added to these badges by simply dragging an image from your desktop onto the student's badge.
Step 4 - Update Sarah's information
You can update Sarah's information at any time. Use one of the three methods to find Sarah's page.
- Use the person icon at the top of the page and choose the correct letter of the alphabet (you can switch between searching by last night or first name using the buttons at the top).
- Use the double person icon at the top of the page to find their class or group.
- Use the search box, this can be found in the quick links menu on the top right of the screen.
Once you have found Sarah's 'Information' page you can change any information. Don't forget to click 'Save'
Children will not appear in a class until they have actually started school (ie, their start date is today or earlier.
